To John's family - I am so sorry for your loss, this must be such a difficult time for you all. I hope you take comfort from knowing how widely and deeply admired John was - he and I worked together as junior doctors at the Radcliffe Infirmary and he set a high standard of professionalism and ability for the rest of us to try to match. He has been a superb colleague ever since, and I know was so committed to you all - he will remain in our thoughts forever.

Dear John, It was wonderful to get to know you whilst we worked together as consultants at OUHFT. You were always so kind and helpful and responsive to your patients and colleagues. Last year you kindly resuscitated and looked patient in the respiratory department with kindness experience and without complaint that we transferred for a respiratory test who was much more poorly that the overnight team realised and helped the patient and our team in a very difficult situation.
