Dear Ruth and family - I was so lucky to work with John as both a trainee and a consultant. I remember him teaching me for my exams as an SHO during the evening - I still think of him when I teach my students about pulmonary fibrosis! He was a wonderful Deputy HoS when I was a trainee, and then HoS when I worked with him as a consultant - kind, thoughtful, considered and supportive, he genuinely had the trainees' best interests at heart. I will miss him so much.
